April is a power month, nothing like we have seen in years.  This month will be packed with big landscape shifts setting the tone for the coming years.  All slow-moving planets are making a move into a different sign, including Jupiter, Saturn, as well as the nodal axis. The month will end with a bang, with the first eclipse of the year, in Aries.

New Moon in Pisces on April 1

We start the month with a new moon on April 1st.  The new moon takes place in the sign of Pisces in the nakshatra of Revati in approx 17 degrees close to JupiterThis new moon phase is also strongly impacted by a debilitated Mercury. Communications will be impacted due to the connection with a debilitated Mercury, who is the controlling planet of Revati where the new moon takes place.

The new moon will be aspected by a strong Saturn from CapricornAnd it is contained within the Kaal Sarp yoga, still in effect, so a feeling of sudden changes or fated-ness can predominate, depending on where Pisces falls in your chart.  Wait till April 7th to make any big decisions.

And Jupiter the ruling planet of the new moon is still in Aquarius, on its way out, with Venus close by.  If you want to start a new routine or a habit, this is a good time to do so, around the new moon due to Jupiter transiting in Purva Bhadra.

Venus transits Aquarius from March 31 till April 27

Venus has finally moved on from the turbulent, difficult transits it underwent since last December.

In Aquarius, Venus will first make a conjunction with Jupiter, and then Mars.  In D9, Venus is now in Libra navamsha.  This will be a much better transit for Taurus and Libra.  For everyone, all relationship matters should improve now.  However, Venus is still in Saturn’s sign, so a serious, heavy tone may continue with relationships.

Mars and Saturn in Conjunction on April 5

We also have an approaching conjunction with Mars and Saturn at this time.  This conjunction goes exact on April 5th.

Mars /Saturn conjunctions are times to be cautious – in areas that are impacted by Capricorn in your chart.   This conjunction can bring mishaps, accidents, disputes, repressed anger to the surface, and tension.  So, be cautious from April 3th till April 6th.

Due to the recent world events, this conjunction can also produce a lot of fear at this time.  It can also lead to health issues due to stress so good time to keep things light if possible at this time.  Aries, Scorpio, Cap, and Aquarius will be most impacted now.

Mars transits Aquarius from April 7 till May 17

Mars moves into Aquarius, and away from Saturn.  And on the same day, the moon will break the Kaal sarp yoga.

Here, Mars joins Venus, and by the end of the month, Saturn joins Mars.  Though they maintain a far enough distance from each other.  Mars here will form a parivartana yoga with  Rahu, as they both transit each other’s signs.  This can bring some aggression and impulsiveness with Mars-related themes.  It can also bring a very self-centered approach to your goals, depending on where Aquarius falls in your chart.

Mercury transits Aries from April 8 till April 24

Mercury zips through Aries.  In the beginning of April, Mercury is debilitated and therefore, it is not a good time for signing contracts or agreements at this time, as you may gloss over the important bits.

This movement of Mercury, with Mars in Aquarius, is a time to forge ahead with your plans, especially those connected to studying, writing, marketing, networking, socialising, and money matters generally.  Also, a good time to spend with friends and community networks now.  Plans that were put on hold could start to move again at this time at a rapid pace.

Rahu and Ketu transit Aries and Libra from April 12 till October 30, 2023

Rahu and Ketu change the nodal axis to Aries and Libra on April for the usual 18 month period.  Here, Rahu will function in an assertive and bold manner, and this could bring a restlessness to take action.  Plans will be more individualistic rather than couple or group orientated.

The video below discusses this in greater detail:

Jupiter transits Pisces from April 13 till April 21, 2023

Jupiter makes it to Pisces on April 13.  This is good news for all the water signs, as this is an excellent position for Jupiter.   Starting its journey in Pisces, it reaches its exaltation position of Cancer in the D9.

I have spoken about this in detail in a separate video:

Sun transits Aries from April 14 till May 15

In the early morning hours of April 14, the Sun moves into Aries, its exaltation position – a place it is usually very comfortable to give excellent results.  However, this year it will be approaching a conjunction with Rahu here.

Sun represents your life path, your identity, your purpose, and now is a good time to question whether you are on the right path and if not, make changes that allow you to align yourself with your life purpose.  Rahu with Sun often can increase one’s energy and drive but also can bring some self-deception and an overinflated false sense of confidence.

This is a good transit for Leos.

Full Moon in Libra in the nakshatra of Chitra on April 16

In the early evening hours of Apr 16, we have a full moon in approx 3 degrees of Libra in the nakshatra of Chitra.   This full moon is aspected by Saturn, and again we have Mercury’s aspect here as well.   The full moon is also caught in the nodal axis though too far from the nodes to cause an eclipse.

Venus, the ruling planet of Libra is in Aquarius and Mars, the controlling planet of Chitra is also in Aquarius.  Though they are no longer in war.  So again, relationships will feature highly now.  This is a good time for networking and connecting with friends.  Its a good time generally to connect with others and socialise.  You can also experience some chance encounters now that will prove to be useful later.

Chitra is a nakshatra where you can show your creativity as it gets associated with the celestial architect.  It’s a good time to spend more time with your hobbies, or for making your surroundings more appealing.

Also good for spiritual practices.  In fact, you may get flashes of inspiration now as the moon gets influenced by the nodal axis where Ketu sits.

On April 24, the Kaal sarp yoga gets broken for the final time by Mercury moving into Taurus.  Before moving on Mercury makes an exact conjunction with Rahu at the end of Aries.  This can bring flashes of insight, perhaps a solution to an ongoing problem or issue will finally appear.  Something that may have troubled you since late December of last year could be resolved now or reach a culmination point.

Venus transits Pisces from April 27 till May 23

On April 27 Venus finally moves far away from Mars and reaches its exaltation sign of Pisces where it joins Jupiter.

Venus here performs with awareness and can uplift the area of your chart where Pisces falls. If you have experienced disappointments in rels, you may be questioning your ideals at this time with Jupiter so close by in Pisces.  If you were ending a relationship, then you can do so with amicable feelings.  Or you may be willing to forgive and surrender at this time more freely.

Saturn transits Aquarius from April 29

Saturn will briefly move into Aquarius from April 29, 2022 till July 12, 2022. Saturn will go back into Aquarius on January 17, 2023 and remain there till March 29, 2025.

This is an excellent transit for Saturn.  The environment of Aquarius is nourishing for Saturn as here Saturn feels at home and its roots are strong.  For this reason, it is called Saturn’s mooltrikona house.  Simply because Aquarius most closely matches the nature of the planet Saturn, more so than Capricorn.

From here, Saturn will aspect Aries, Leo, and Scorpio – at the same time, Jupiter will also aspect Scorpio so whatever Scorpio signifies will become prominent in your chart at least for the next year till Spring 2023.

Its also a time of deep transformation for Aries and Leo as Rahu will be transiting Aries and aspecting Leo at this time too.

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries in the nakshatra of Bharani on April 30

Finally in April, we have the first eclipse of the year on April 30.  The eclipse takes place in Aries at approx 16 degrees in the nakshatra of Bharani.  Its appropriate to have an eclipse in the middle of Aries, at the start of spring.

This is a very strong period to plant some new seeds.  See where you have Aries and Aquarius in your chart, here you will experience new beginnings.  I have spoken about it in detail in this video:

Overall, April is a powerful month – where possible keep your schedule light as lots of changes will be taking place all at once.
