August will bring some deep reflections. We start the month with a mercury retrograde cycle and Venus going into debility joining Ketu toward the end of the month.
Venus transits Leo from July 31 till August 25
First event in August is Venus moving into Leo. Venus will stay here till Aug 25th. Venus enjoys this transit with friend Mercury till the Sun joins in mid-Aug taking away all the attention.
Venus in Leo is not the most comfortable but at least it is out of combustion now. Here Venus leaves the gaze of Rahu and is now under the gaze of Saturn so rel matters can feel more sobering and serious now. Its also a time to be more cautious with your spending habits as the Venus combustion and its transit thru Cancer could have seen you spending a lot.
New Moon in Cancer in the nakshatra of Ashlesha on Aug 4th
We have a new moon in cancer on August 4th. Its an excellent moon cycle to get some benefits from dreams, meditation, especially since the ruling planet, Mercury is just about to go retrograde.
You may be able to solve a lingering problem or come to some conclusion about an ongoing dilemma. This new moon receives the exact aspect of Rahu – there could be some deception and underhanded activity. Ashlesha is a nakshatra that is about getting to the bottom of things and uncovering the truth. It can also conversely be the catalyst for lies /manipulation esp with the Rahu aspect.
Mercury retrogrades in Leo and returns to Cancer from August 5 till August 28
Early next morning on Aug 5th mercury goes retrograde so it supports the retreating nature and re-doing some matters. Rethinking matters, perhaps a business problem that you will now get the solution for. Venus being close by, you could be managing some old relationship issues as well.
Mercury in Leo from July 20 is great for networking, business matters, contemplating and putting into actions serious goals – with Saturn’s aspect you can be very centered and focused now. It’s a good time to share your knowledge with others.
On August 22nd, Mercury retreats into Cancer and remains there till September 4th. Mercury in Cancer is not entirely comfortable but can be a helpful transit for dealing with domestic matters. It’s a time when working from home can be a good option.
It resumes its transit in Leo from September 4th till September 23rd. See where Leo falls in your chart – that will give you clues on where there will be a lot of attention focused in your life. You may feel some pressure to make a decision now with both Mars and Saturn aspecting Leo.
Sun transits Leo from August 16 till September 16
On August 16th, we have the Sun’s annual transit into its own sign of Leo till Sept 16th. Sun feels powerful and ready to shine in Leo. Mars aspects the Sun here and you will feel energised – this will balance out the sobering aspect of Saturn.
Full Moon in Aquarius in the nakshatra of Dhanishta on August 19
On August 19th we have a full moon in Aquarius in the nakshatra of Dhanishta. This will get the aspect of retrograde Saturn being close by as well as Venus and retrograde Mercury. We are going back to something – see where Aquarius falls to get a clue what area of life you are reflecting on and revisiting.
All planets are now in fixed signs so decisions now can have a lasting impact. There can be some tensions now, in relationships and this could arise due to money issues. There will be disagreements – it’s a time for negotiations not to make any concrete decisions.
Wait till Aug 28th when Mercury goes direct to make any concrete decisions. You will get more clarity by then. Mercury retreats back into Cancer on Aug 22nd – here you will get some clues on how to proceed. Though it receives the aspect of Rahu so things may not be entirely clear until it goes direct early Sept.
Mars continues its transit in taurus till Aug 26; Mars moves into Gemini on Aug 27 to stay till Oct 21st
Mars in Gemini is not the best place for Mars as it can result in gossip and back biting. Also best to double check facts and communication at this time – there can be exaggerations and lies. This is especially the case till Mercury moves into Leo on Sept 4th. There will be more discussion on this next month.
On Aug 24th Venus moves into its Virgo till September 18
Venus in its debilitation sign of Virgo will join Ketu there. With Mercury, ruler of Virgo in retrograde in Cancer – it’s a time when you can experience some domestic issues. If you are dealing with family, then there could be some disagreements but they get sorted out by the end of the month.
Venus in Virgo can cause detachment in relationships, especially with Ketu there – maybe you are disenchanted with your love interest and looking outside the relationship for fulfilment. Venus leaves Virgo on Sep 18th. Mercury moves direct on Aug 28th bringing clarity in domestic matters and also opening up communication channels now.
