In February, we will see Rahu move into Ashwini nakshatra. Mars will shift into Mrigshira nakshatra, and we will also experience a Jupiter-Venus conjunction, as well as a Sun-Saturn conjunction this month. With the recent sign change of Saturn and Mars and Mercury resuming direct motion, life’s pace will pick up this month.
Full Moon in Cancer in the nakshatra of Ashlesha on February 5
The first big event of the month is the full moon in Cancer. Only Jupiter will aspect this full moon, there are no malefic aspects. It’s an excellent time for all domestic matters, socialising, and connecting with family and friends.
Its also a good time for property-related matters, and they should go quite smoothly at this time. Activities that require taking a firm stance are favourable at this time, esp concerning legal matters.
Mercury transit in Capricorn from February 7 till February 27
Then we see Mercury moving into Capricorn. Now Mercury has moved away from the gaze of Mars and Rahu. It’s a good time to get organised, do any planning esp related to career matters. If you wanted to buy new items for your home or office, this is a good time to do that.
Rahu moves into Ashwini nakshatra on February 20 till October 30
On the same day, February 7, if you are taking the true node calculation, Rahu moves into Ashwini. If you are taking the mean node, then Rahu will move into Ashwini on Feb 20.

Sun transits Aquarius from February 13 till March 14
On Feb 13, the Sun moves into Aquarius where it joins Saturn. This is a better transit for the Sun as from here it aspects its own sign of Leo. In fact at this time Leo is being aspected by most planets, including Rahu, Saturn, Sun, Venus, and Mars. So if you have your moon or lagna in Leo this time could see you busy and under some pressure.
You may feel confident now, and eager to take some chances. The first few days of this transit Saturn is combust so planning, organising and work progress may slow down.
It is better to wait till Mars moves into Gemini next month to make big decisions. Sun in Aquarius also joins Venus so difficult time for Venus ruled signs such as Taurus and Libra. So much emphasis on Aquarius now can mean that people can be a bit more self-involved and aloof at this time. This is further confirmed with Rahu in Aries, which puts more emphasis on self-serving plans.
Venus transits Pisces from February 15 till March 12
On Feb 15, the tone shifts as Venus moves into Pisces its exaltation sign and joins Jupiter there. This is an excellent transit for all the dual signs, as it’s a mahapurush yoga happening for you. Specifically, you will experience Malayva yoga and Hamsa yoga if you have your ascendant in any dual sign, including Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. This can make you feel confident now. It is a good time for growth, expansion, for learning a new subject. See where Pisces fall for you to see where you will experience good fortune and growth.
Mahashivratri takes place in the evening of February 18
On February 18, we have the occasion of Mahashavratri. This is celebrated on the dark night before the new moon. And always, when the Sun is transiting in Aquarius. It is observed by fasting, and chanting shiv mantras. It marks a time of overcoming darkness and ignorance.
This year it is especially auspicious as Sun is with Saturn so good time for observing mahashivratri, esp for Leos as well as Capricorn or Aquarius, and especially, if you are going thru Sade Sati period.
New Moon in Aquarius in Shatabhisha on February 20
We have a new moon cycle in Aquarius in the nakshatra of Shatabhisha on Feb 20. The only aspect this new moon receives is from Saturn in Aquarius at this time as well. This new moon in Sag navamsha spells a time when you could be approaching a fresh start, a new path. Activities connected to rejuvenation, healing, and beauty treatments are favoured now.
It can mark a time when you see the beginning of a new chapter depending on where Aquarius falls in your chart. The same day Rahu moves into Ashwini when taking mean node calculation. This is relevant as Rahu is the controlling planet of Shatabhisha. Those who are going thru a Venus dasha or antar dasha can now feel some relief with Rahu leaving Bharani.
The nodes traveling in each other’s nakshatra now – Rahu in Ashwini and Ketu in Swati – will bring some karmic events that seem fated and out of our control. You will esp feel this if you are in a Rahu or Ketu dasha – it may be out of the blue opportunities for changing your life direction. It may also be that with new people you meet you will feel a déjà vu sort of feeling due to Ketu in Swati. This can especially apply to a new relationship that begins which can have that quality to it.
Rahu in the third from this new moon means taking initiative for fresh starts.
Mars moves into Mrigshira on February 24
The final good news this month is Mars moving away from Rohini. This is positive esp for those in Moon dasha or AD. And it is good for all relationships. Mars here goes into Leo navamsha. Those in Mars dasha can feel energised and confident now to take some chances and now is the time to move forward.
Mercury moves into Aquarius on February 27
The final transit of the month is Mercury’s movement into Aquarius on Feb 27. Here Mercury performs well, as it has an affinity with Rahu’s sign. You can think fast and be inventive and innovative with this Mercury transit. And because it will join Saturn, it’s a good time to be strategic and plan ahead.
