Selfless service, also known as “Sewa,” has always been an excellent way to release our karmic blocks. And by far the best remedy for any planetary affliction or challenging dasha phase. When you do sewa as a remedy on a regular basis, whether it is by giving your time to a good cause, or money to a needy recipient, you are shifting your consciousness to a new level. By helping another, not only does it aid in your spiritual growth, but it also changes the planetary frequencies or blocks in your chart.
In my practice, the best remedy is always Sewa, and this can be tailored to specific challenging areas in the chart. For instance, if your Jupiter is afflicted and you are having trouble conceiving children, then you would do Jupiterian remedies. For instance, you can do the following: volunteer time toward religious/spiritual event; make a donation for the education of a less privileged child; or even donate books to your library, as Jupiter signifies knowledge, education, and childbirth.
Each chart needs to be analysed to prescribe specific remedies. There are many simple remedies that can be performed at home by simply changing lifestyle, diet, habits, and building awareness. For afflictions to the Sun, you can help your own father, provide service to a government project, or pay another’s medical expenses.

Mars
For afflictions to Mars, you can make donations to war veterans, violence or abuse victims. Also donations to burn or fire victims, helping those going through any type of abuse.

Mercury
