May will start to show the effects of the big shifts that we have just experienced in April.  Especially at the end of April, where the solar eclipse coincides with a once in a 12-year conjunction of Jupiter and Venus in Pisces.  This is a very auspicious time to start something new, to envision a bright new future, to set positive intentions, especially with respect to where Aries or Pisces falls in your chart.

Jupiter and Venus coinjoining at the eclipse is a very good omen for new beginnings.  These are two positive forces coming together.  It may also bring a clash between idealism (Jupiter) and pragmatism (Venus).  Though this conjunction will bring clarity, peace, and happiness depending on where Pisces falls in your chart – especially good for all water signs, including Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio.  It is a great time for new undertakings and new beginnings.

This eclipse moment also marked the movement of a powerful Saturn transit, suggesting we will have the resources to fulfil our goals and make our dreams come true.

Mercury goes retrograde from May 10 till June 3

The first event of the month is mercury going retrograde in Taurus on May 10.  As usual this means revising and reviewing – this will impact whatever Mercury’s lordships are in your chart.  Also check to see where Taurus falls in your chart to see which areas you will be reflecting on.  You may have a change of plans with regard to this area of life.

If you are traveling or signing documents, check and double check the details.  Being that mercury’s lord Venus is exalted at the moment and 11th from mercury, re-assessing finances could bring some good news.  Mercury will stay retrograde till June 3rd

Sun and Rahu conjunction on May 12

We have had an ongoing conjunction with Sun and Rahu at this time.  On May 12, the Sun Rahu conjunction becomes exact.  This is a sort of prelude to the coming lunar eclipse.  Whenever Rahu comes close to a planet, it tends to exaggerate its qualities.

Sun represents your life path, your identity, your purpose, and now is a good time to question whether you are on the right path and if not, make changes that allow you to align yourself with your life purpose.  Rahu with Sun can often increase one’s energy and drive but can also bring some self-deception and an overinflated sense of confidence.  And being that this is in Aries, it can bring some ego clashes and you may feel overconfident in the areas that are ruled by Sun and represented by Aries in your chart.

Wait till the end of May or after Mercury goes direct to make important decisions concerning money or your life path, career, etc.  With Saturn’s third aspect on Aries now, this can be a time when you may feel exhausted, especially mentally.  So be mindful of stresses at this time as they can lead to health issues.  If you have the Sun/Rahu conjunction in your chart, you will feel the effects more personally.  Aries, Leo, and Libra will be most impacted now

Sun transits Taurus from May 15 till June 15

We have the Sun’s annual movement into Taurus on May 15. The second half of the month the Sun is connecting with an exalted Venus and is free from all malefic aspects.

Now is a good time to identify effective ways for self- care and make ourselves whole so that we are on our best when we move toward relationship and connection with others.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio in the nakshatra of Vishaka

Then we have a lunar eclipse taking place in Scorpio on 16 May at approx 5 am UTC in the nakshatra of Vishaka, at 1 degree.  This eclipse is caused by Ketu, which is around 3 degrees away in Libra.

We have Mercury retrograde aspecting this eclipse from Taurus.  We also have Jupiter throwing its ninth aspect to the moon as well as Saturn throwing its 10th aspect to the moon now.  Jupiter’s aspect is important as Jupiter is the controlling planet of Vishaka so being in the 5/9 angle from this moon is very auspicious.

Neptune is also in exact trine with the moon at this time so intuition and emotional sensitivity will be unusually high.  Both the Jupiter and Venus conjunction in Pisces as well as this eclipse is offering us a window of opportunity to visualise what you want out of your life – to see the bigger picture and send out clear intentions.

All lunar eclipses can be emotionally challenging and here being in Scorpio, the Moon will anyway feel insecure and edgy.   So you would benefit from doing remedies for moon.  Some of those remedies could include: listen to soothing music; get enough sleep; spend time in nature; drink lots of water; move away from social media; spend more time at home.

Full moons are a good time to connect with others and this may be a good time to spend with family and close friends.  It’s the final eclipse in Scorpio and will be a much easier energy than the previous ones we have experienced since June 2020.  It can also open up new doors depending on what is represented by Scorpio in your chart

Mars transits Pisces from May 17 till June 27

On May 17, Mars moves into Pisces joining Jupiter and Venus.  It will stay here till June 27 when it moves into its own sign of Aries.  Here Mars is connecting with Jupiter quite closely – Pisces is a place that Mars tends to do well as it’s a friendly environment.  You can expect pleasant outcomes here, see where Pisces falls in your chart.  Mars in Pisces also promotes charitable activities.

Venus transits Aries from May 23 till June 18

On May 23, Venus moves into Aries approaching a conjunction with Rahu. From the 22nd till 24th, Venus passes through the gandanta zone of Pisces and Aries. This can point to some unravelling in rels. – either forming a deep attachment or connection or severing a tie due to another love interest.

In the end of water signs, we normally have to deal with letting go of toxic attachments but here we have Venus in its exaltation.  In the beginning of the fire gandanta zone, we normally are starting something new but with a lot of hesitation so can hold back. But with Venus approaching Rahu here in Aries, the urge to start new relationships is strong now.

New Moon in Taurus in the nakshatra of Rohini

Finally, the month ends with a new moon.  At mid-day on May 30, we have a new moon in Taurus in the nakshatra of Rohini at approx 14 degrees.  Here again, we need to see Venus’ position (ruling planet of Taurus) and Venus is in 12th from the new moon approaching Rahu, suggesting new relationships or even affairs.

There is a Mercury retrograde present in Taurus, suggesting a return to a previous attachment or change of heart in matters connected to relationships.

At the time of this new moon there is an exact conjunction with Mars and Jupiter – both are in 11th position from the new moon cycle.  This again suggests strong desires manifesting, leading to a fulfilment of goals.  And taking place in Pisces, in Uttarabhadra, can suggest some struggle prior to the attainment of this goal.

Overall its another eventful month – big planetary shifts are slowing making their impact forcing us to integrate the changes in our lives.  For some, these dramatic shifts would have been ongoing since early this year.  The second half of the month will be easier than the first half.
