In October, we see Mercury and Saturn going direct. Mars will briefly dip into Gemini, we have a solar eclipse in Libra, and the beginning of a Mars retrograde cycle. It is a month where we can experience some relationship breakdowns.
Mercury goes direct and stays in Virgo till October 26
Mercury goes direct in the beginning degree of Virgo, its exaltation place, on October 2nd. All matters connected to Mercury can move forward now. This is an excellent Mercury transit in Virgo. And Mercury will stay in Virgo till Oct 26. So, now is a good time for activities connected to Mercury. It could be scheduling apts, studying pursuits, financial transactions, and making connections. It is also a good time to resume or pick up where you left off with goals and projects that were put on hold.
You may also restart a health routine that you had put on hold, if so, now is a good time to do so. The Mercury transit in Virgo will receive the benefic aspect of Jupiter and will transit Virgo with Venus. If you wanted to cultivate good habits related to food and exercise, this transit is excellent for that.
It is also good for any educational pursuits, learning a new subject, a new language, as well as a new skill. You can expect positive developments with money matters and wealth building activities
Venus remains in Virgo till Oct 18
Normally Venus here comes with some problems but in this transit it is getting the support of Mercury as well as the benefic aspect of Jupiter. This is an excellent Venus transit for health matters, exploring new foods, and creating healthier routines.
If you are signing contracts where money is involved, then you may be spending more than you expected, but overall it will prove to be good due to the benefic aspects on Venus. Sun transits Libra from October 17 till November 16
Then we have the monthly Sun transit. The Sun will transit Libra from Oct 17 till Nov 16. This may be a challenging transit for the Sun as its gets debilitated – Libra is where the Sun sets so the vitality can be low now.
Leos can be particularly impacted now so take time out and take lots of breaks to keep your energy high. Further, now the Sun will get caught in the nodal axis so be prepared for some surprises. And here, the Sun also receives an aspect from Saturn so you can feel quite pressured at this time. Especially, with Venus also moving there a day later
Venus transits Libra from October 18 till November 12
Venus moves into Libra from October 18 till Nov 12. We see Venus moving into its own sign of Libra, this is Venus’ mooltrikona placement and usually an excellent transit for Venus. Though, here we have some challenges. We have Saturn aspecting Venus, we have Venus caught in the nodal axis, and finally due to its proximity to the Sun, this is a very combust Venus. So, this will present some challenges with the ability to compromise and reach agreements.
You may also not see the picture clearly so we have to rely on Mercury’s dignified position and a bit of faith. Things improve when Saturn goes direct on Oct 23 so if you can wait till then to form agreements it is best.
If you have recently formed some sort of agreement, outside of the Mercury retro cycle, when Saturn turns direct you will be pleased with the outcome. With regard to rels. – now is not the time to form partnerships, its best to wait till after the Nov eclipse.
New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 25
Then on Oct 25, we have the solar eclipse in Libra. In the early morning hours, Sun and Moon join in Libra in the nakshatra of Swati at approximately 8 degrees.
Ketu will cause this eclipse though it will be far enough from the eclipse, 12 degrees away, just newly entered in Swati. Venus will be one degree away also in Swati, completely combust at this time. Here, we have a parivartana between Rahu and Venus, an exchange, as they are sitting in each other’s nakshatra.
Libra is the natural 7th house of the zodiac signifying rels. So, we can expect that relationships will feature highly during the days surrounding the eclipse. This time can bring some passionate attractions where you will want to act immediately and think later.
Venus and Rahu in 1/7 from each other suggests there will be negotiations happening now. Further, some relationship drama could also play out now. Mercury is strong in Virgo and it is in a trine with Saturn, so our thinking can be serious but productive and positive too. However, with a weak Sun and a strong Saturn aspect, I think there will be a lot of time and energy given to one on one connections at this time vs your individual goals. Saturn is the only planet that aspects this eclipse. And Saturn has just turned direct.
So, it tells us that you would be ready to take action and move forward after that the reflection that you would have undergone during Saturn retrograde.
Overall first half of the month is quiet and pleasant and then the momentum really picks up when Mars moves into Gemini mid-month. Lots of changes can happen this month, especially if you are in a Venus or nodal dasha.
